Peer Review Process

The average manuscript processing time is approximately 6 months.

-Initial Review

Upon receipt of the manuscript, the authenticity of the content will be evaluated using the anti-plagiarism tool ¡Thenticate, the Editorial Team or Scientific Committee will perform a preliminary review to ensure that it complies with the established guidelines.

If the article does not meet the formal requirements, it will be returned to the authors for correction before going on to the peer review process.

-Peer Review

Articles will be evaluated under the double-blind methodology, which guarantees the confidentiality of both authors and reviewers.

The Referee Committee, composed of experts in the field, will evaluate aspects such as originality, relevance, methodological quality, clarity in writing and contribution to knowledge.

This process ensures that only articles that meet the highest quality standards are accepted for publication.

Average time for peer review is 30 days.

Editorial Decision

Upon completion of the review, authors will receive a detailed report with one of the following decisions:

-Accepted: authors will receive an acceptance notification informing them that their article has been accepted for publication.

The notification will also include details about the editing process, proofreading and publication schedule.

After acceptance, the manuscript will be sent to the Design and Editorial Committee for corrections and layout, after which the article will be scheduled for publication, either in the next issue of the journal.

Authors must send a close-up photograph with a minimum resolution of 300 pixels per inch to be included in the layout of the magazine.

The article will be accessible to readers on the magazine's website www.acreditas.com, and will be disseminated through the channels available to the magazine.

-Accepted with minor modifications: authors are required to make adjustments before final approval.

Authors will receive a detailed report prepared by the Editorial Team.

This report will include the specific observations that must be addressed.

Minor modifications generally include spelling or grammatical corrections, minor clarifications in the wording of concepts or results, adjustments in references, such as correcting errors in citations according to the APA standard.

Minor edits to tables, figures or graphs, such as improving titles, including sources or adjusting their presentation.

Authors will have a maximum of 10 days to make the requested modifications.

Once the corrected article has been sent, the Editorial Team will review if the modifications comply with what has been requested.

If the modifications are satisfactory, the manuscript will be approved for publication.

Authors will receive a final notification confirming acceptance and, subsequently, details on the editing and publication schedule.

-Accepted with substantial modifications: Means that, although the article has potential, it needs significant changes that affect its structure, content or approach before being considered for final publication. This type of decision implies that the article is not ready to be accepted in its current form, but may be accepted once the necessary corrections are made.

Authors will receive a detailed notification, specifying the substantial modifications required.

These modifications may involve both substantive and formal aspects, which may require a thorough revision of the article.

Substantial modifications may include major changes in the organization of the content, such as rewriting entire sections, rearranging the order of paragraphs, or improving the overall coherence of the manuscript. Expanding or trimming key sections, such as the introduction, methodology, or results, may be required to improve the clarity and focus of the article. It may be necessary to include more detail in the analysis of the results, better discuss the implications of the findings, and relate them to other existing studies. Clarify or modify the methodological approach, especially if the reviewers consider that the methods used are not sufficiently clear or adequate for the objectives of the study. If the article has not considered recent or relevant literature, the authors should update and adjust the bibliographic citations according to the latest research in the field.

Authors will be given an extended deadline for corrections, usually 25 days.

It is essential that the modifications be clear, substantial and that each change be justified, especially in cases where entire sections are restructured.

Once the corrected versions are received, the Editorial Team will re-evaluate the manuscript to determine if the modifications are sufficient.

In some cases, the manuscript may be sent back to the original reviewers for a second review.

If the changes are adequate and meet the established criteria, the manuscript will advance to the next phase of the editorial process.

After the modifications are approved, the article will be accepted for publication.

Authors will receive confirmation of final acceptance and details of the editing process, proofreading and publication schedule.

-Not Accepted: the manuscript does not meet the journal's standards of quality or relevance.

Authors will receive a formal notification of rejection. This will include a detailed explanation of the reasons why the article was not accepted.

The most common reasons for rejection include plagiarism, lack of originality or relevance of the content, deficiencies in the methodology employed, absence of adequate results or contribution to the field of study, and negative peer review, where the reviewers consider that the article does not contribute significant new perspectives.
